Where I Stayed in Bangkok

Radisson Suites Bangkok (Soi 11) - Sukhumvit

A reliable base in the heart of Sukhumvit.

Large suites, strong service and a calm atmosphere just far enough off the strip to escape the noise when needed.

Bangkok is loud, hot and relentless — a city that moves fast and rewards travellers who know how to pace themselves.

How the Week Ran

Bangkok days settled into an efficient, heat-friendly rhythm — gym sessions, late breakfasts, pool downtime, admin and meetings, supported by regular massage treatments that function more as maintenance than luxury.

A key win during the week was resolving banking and residency administration, handled far more smoothly than in many other destinations. It reinforced Thailand’s appeal not just as a place to visit, but as a practical base for longer stays.

Things To Do in Bangkok

Food & Value

Bangkok continues to deliver range and contrast:

  • Outstanding Thai meals at local prices

  • Western comfort food when needed

  • Strong value if you know where to look

Prices across Southeast Asia have risen, but Bangkok still rewards informed choices.

Evenings & Energy

Nights were kept intentionally low-key — quiet dinners, early finishes and balance over excess. Bangkok can burn you out quickly if you let it.

Standout Moment

A spontaneous street dragon performance near Soi 11 brought traffic to a halt — drums, fireworks and organised chaos weaving through cars and crowds. No planning, no permits. Pure Bangkok.

The Takeaway

By week’s end, Bangkok delivered exactly what it always does: momentum, stimulation and perspective — in equal measure.

Travel Day — Bangkok to Chiang Rai ✈️

Checkout was smooth and unhurried. The drive out of Sukhumvit eased from neon into open roads, marking a clear shift in pace.

Next stop: Chiang Rai — cooler air, slower days, and a very different energy.

Bangkok locked in.Onwards north.
