And here’s the big observation: In Asia, hospitality is still treated as a career. In much of the West… it’s often treated as a job. That difference shows up in every interaction.

The Recovery Moment (This Matters)

I had a small service lapse at the pool on day one. Nothing major — but noticeable.

What happened next?

“Mr Lyons, we sincerely apologise for yesterday…”

No excuses. No hiding. No ego. That’s world-class service recovery.

Rooms, Views & Overall Experience

From the moment I arrived from Bangkok… To sitting here on my final morning…

Rooms: Beautiful, modern, functional
Views: Spectacular over Pattaya Beach
Atmosphere: Relaxed, elevated, never chaotic

And the kicker…

Which is rare. Most luxury hotels get this wrong. This one doesn’t. I had a chicken burger (off diet, worth it)… Restaurant-level quality. No exaggeration.

Pool & Facilities

Pool area: Excellent
Service (post-recovery): Spot on
Overall vibe: Relaxed luxury

Small detail, but very “Mr Paparazzi”:

👉 Ice bucket for the phone to keep it cool while working

Handled like it was completely normal. That’s the difference — nothing is too much trouble.

Food & Lounge Experience

Executive lounge food:

Clean
Refined
Boutique style
Not overwhelming

A refreshing change from the usual buffet overload.

The Downsides (Keeping It Real)

No hotel is perfect — and I call it straight.

The Downsides

1. Spa / Massage — 6/10

Not bad, just not exceptional
Personal benchmark is high (Koh Samui standard)

2. Horizon Restaurant (31st Floor)

The space? 👉 Spectacular

The issues:

Service not quite at the same level
Furniture is a problem
Uncomfortable seating
Slippery cushions
Sitting too low for dining

I actually had to move tables to eat properly. 👉 For a premium rooftop dining experience — this needs fixing.

Final Word

This hotel surprised me. Not just because it’s good… But because it’s memorable. And that’s rare.

“This will be remembered — and that’s the highest compliment I can give.”
